Celia Green is a choreographer, director, performer, writer, and facilitator
They create highly physical, intimate performances that explore emotion, the body, mess, and the pursuit of freedom—always infused with humour. Grounded in care and rigor, their collaborative practice and creations draw on their experiences as a queer, trans-masculine person and their background in care work with children and families.
Celia’s work has been shared at English Theatre Berlin, The Toronto Dance Love-In, The Wildside Festival, The SummerWorks Festival, and The Rhubarb Festival. Celia is a co-founder of Bad Pony Productions.
In 2022–2023, they served as guest curator at the Dancemakers Centre for Creation, where they conceptualized and curated GOODIE BAG!—a week-long event offering free massage, tattoos, portraits, and acupuncture for trans and gender non-conforming performers.
They have developed work through residencies at The National Ballet of Canada’s Open Space Program (Toronto), LA SERRE (Montreal), P.A.R.T.S (Brussels), Buddies in Bad Times Theatre (Toronto), and Toronto Dance Theatre.
Celia has performed in works for the stage and the screen. They were a dancer in Daina Ashbee’s “J’ai pleuré avec les chiens” at VIDF 2023. They also acted in the short film “Greenhorn” by Sabrina Way, for which they recently won the award for Best Performance in a Short Film at The 2025 Canadian Film Fest.
Celia studied Theatre Performance at Humber College, trained with La Pocha Nostra, completed the Factory Theatre’s director training enhancement program, and attended P.A.R.T.S Summer School in Brussels.
In 2024–2025, they co-directed the AMY Project’s Creation Program alongside Bessie Cheng. They were one of the guest instructors for the 2023 Toronto Dance Love-In’s Summer Love-In Festival.
